New Features in Opera 9

I used upto Opera 8. For a new project i had to re-install my Windows in start of this month. Today suddenly i recalled that i didn't install Opera which i usually use for tracking different Group posts, Blog feeds and other online articles. So i installed Opera 9 which was already downloaded in my PC few days ago.

Most interesting part i saw was the Thumbnail view of any Tab which is rare in any other browsers. Though very simple but most friendly to me for tracking my expected Tab to open while there are long Page titles.

I saw Feed Reader last time in Opera 8, but it's missing in this version. And there is a new thing called Widget. I just printed out "Your first widget" tutorial doc to learn how to create a personal widget. I need to create a Blog RSS reader Widget. Lets hope i could do it as soon as possible. Before anyone do it for me ;)

By the way if you want to see more features of Opera 9 browser.

Goolge HQ

Today i got this Document file from one of my senior Brother (Noori Bhai). Pasted them here to share with you all my Blog readers :)

Google’s HQ, otherwise known as Googleplex, is situated in Mountain view, California in Silicon Valley. Throughout the corridors between the four buildings, there are all sorts of Google memorabilia on display. They even employ guides who specialize in explaining Google’s history to people. There are lava lamps everywhere, as well as free coke and candy all over the place. They’ve also got huge multicolored exercise balls everywhere.

People’s workspaces are full of individuality, and the atmosphere is relaxed. There are couches everywhere. People can have a lie down when they need to and take a break.

Google’s staff loves sports. The big guns often have meetings at the pool table or in the corridors.

The casual atmosphere in Google HQ can be demonstrated by the fact that staff can bring their pets to work, and the pets are allowed to wander around the office.

Heaps of people have pets at Google HQ.

There’s a rule within Google: that there must be food within 100 feet of every employee.

There was once an engineer who felt a bit ripped off about that rule because his nearest food counter was 120 feet away, so he asked for the error to be corrected, tongue in cheek. The relevant department replied: “There’s a restaurant right above your desk, and you are definitely less than 100 feet from that one.”

This looks more like a toyshop than a workspace!

Rumor has it, a dude who had just joined Google had not been able to find a flat, so he lived at Google HQ for a month. He lived a lot better than Tom Hanks in The Terminal. Meals are provided, couches everywhere, there are showers in the bathrooms, a gym and a swimming machine. There are even pianos in music rooms you could use. Better than the facilities at home! The dude didn’t leave Google HQ for a month straight.

It’s all fun and games!

Whiteboards at Google HQ are filled with all sorts of great (or not) ideas in all sorts of different languages.

There’s free food all over the place, it almost look like a supermarket.

Hmmmmmmmm chocolate!

There’s also a free laundry room for use for the staff.

Krugle for Krugling

"Krugle is for Krugling
where Google is for Googling"

Suddenly i recalled about "Krugle" while i was surfing through the Goolge. Last time i received an email from Krugle about their beta release with a survay form. I liked this Krugle searching engine. Here what the Krugle is for...

Krugle Search gives you to :

  • Find Code
  • Find Answers
  • Save and Share
See few of the Screen shots from Below.

-> Index page of the Krugle.
-> Find Code

-> Find Answer

-> Save and Share

I recommend every one to utilize the use of Krugle as they released their version open to everyone where it was not open to all even few months ago. Don't know the exact date when they really let it open for all. But now everyone should get the chance to use it. It should help Krugle team even to find more bugs and enrich the features purely. Several open feedbacks could help a process to be more perfect :)

Lets use and ask our friends to use it. Enjoy Krugling :)

Online Radio + XAMPP, LAMP, WAMP

Today one of my friend was asking about Online Radio. How to come up with this "Online Radio" stuff as a Web Service? Usually i preffer PHP for any web service as Hosting is cheaper, Database compatibility is there, faster development is possible. Even there are more OpenSource packages in PHP can be plugged in easily.

Searching in PHPClass i got a Radio class which i need to test. There are more classes on Audio classification. Although i got this help from PHPClass i posted 1 inquery in phpXperts and phpResource group to see more feedbacks. If there are any more better feedbacks? ;) You see we all think for more better... :P and even if that is for free :)

Suddenly i wanted to focus few difference on XAMPP, LAMP, WAMP. Just to make sure anyone can be aware of it and at least have few idea on the differences.

XAMPP is an integrated server package of Apache, mySQL, PHP and phpMyAdmin (the AMPP in XAMPP) that all run from a removable drive. Everything is pre-configured and ready to go just by unzipping or installing it.

WAMP5 ! discover PHP5
Applications have also been updated (MySQL 5.0.22, Apache 2.0.58, phpmyadmin 2.8.1) as well as PHP4, MySQL administration and Zend Optimizer add-ons.

LAMP

SEO - Search Engine Optimization

From last few weeks i started working on SEO. The problem is - there are many articles on SEO - basically on Google SEO. And as Google changeing their policys most frequently. Most of the articles became contradictory with each other. Make sure you are studying on updates articles from Internet.
Yes! you can learn on SEO even from the Old articles, but just to increase your knowledge and to avoide the old strategies which are banned or outdated to popular search engines. Most easy way to start with SEO is to start with Google's "Webmaster Help Center". Cause here you can see that what Google is allowing you to do and what are asked to follow.

I heared, even was suggested not to use any robots in websites as Google disallows this strategy and blah blah.. But in Google's webmaster help center i read - there are few rules to follow for robots and Google itself owns a Googlebot: Google's Web Crawler .

See at "Google Information for Webmasters" where there are few helps on -

Webmaster Info

FAQ
Guidelines
Facts & Fiction
SEOs
Googlebot
Feedfetcher
Removals

Most interesting part which i found that we Internet users who own our personal blogs or web pages are mostly interested in few Automated rank checkers. Google says -

"Automated rank checking programs violate Google's Terms of Service. They use server resources that should be spent on answering user requests. We strongly request that you not use rank checking programs to check your position on Google."

Never go for any third party linking programs. See the comment below :
We have been on the internet since 1996 and had always taken a very conservative approach on our site. For nearly a year though, we were bombarded by emails from third party linking programs, which stressed the importance of linking for relevancy.

Finally, we broke down and joined one of these programs. Unfortunately, the program used hidden links, and Google removed us from the index within a week. I guess it's true that anyone can get fooled into buying snake oil."

– Frank, owner of a limousine services company

So what you can start with - is doing study on GoogleBot and how really a Robot works. Read the Robot FAQs which is already suggested by Google. By creating a good sitemap of your desired webpage. You can even start with studying on Google Sitemap.

What is the Google Sitemaps program?
The Google Sitemaps program has two major components:

To get started, simply add your site to your Google Sitemaps account.

You can even use Sitemaps Third Party Programs & Websites which are referred by Google.
Webhosting companies can use Google Sitemaps Logo and see detail here.
